MRSA: An Emerging Cause of Prostate Abscess
Case Report
Gram negative bacteria are the most common cause of acute prostatitis and prostate abscess. Increased empiric use of antibiotics and immunocompromised states, predispose patients to develop invasive prostate infections due to uncommon organisms like Community acquired methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (CA-MRSA). Prostatitis and prostate abscess, classically, result in significant constitutional symptoms including dysuria, fevers and irritative urinary symptoms along with pelvic pain. We present a rare case of acute prostatitis secondary to MRSA, with minimal constitutional symptoms, complicated with formation of prostate abscess and sepsis requiring surgical intervention.

Effects of Baduanjin Exercise on 160 Freshmen
Original Research
This study aimed to observe the physiological and psychological effects of Baduanjin on the college students. A total of 160 healthy freshmen were recruited and randomly divided into the control group and the test group. The subjects in the control group practiced “the 8th radio calisthenics, while those in the test group did Baduanjin, 5 times a week (30 min for each time), and 6 months practicing overall. Before and after the trial the physiological and psychological indexes were measured using Profile of Mood States (POMS) or Symptom check list-90(SCL-90) scale. The results showed that after exercise, lung capacity in test group was significantly improved (P<0.01), while heart rate was significantly decreased (P<0.05). Systolic pressure (SP) and diastolic pressure (DP) had no statistical difference before and after exercise. In the control group, cardiopulmonary functions had no statistical difference. The physiological indexes (weight, height, et al.) were no change in control and test group. Waist circumference in test group was significantly decreased (P<0.05), while waist circumference in control group had no change. (3) POMS scores (negative emotions, et al.) were significantly decreased (P<0.01) in test group and were significantly lower than that of control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Energy, and self-esteem scores were significantly increased in test group after exercise (P<0.01). The SCL-90 scores of test group were significantly lower on somatization, obsessive-compulsive, depression, anxiety and hostility (P<0.01 or P<0.05). The POMS and SCL-90 scores had no statistical difference before and after exercise in the control group. The study indicated that college students would get physiological and psychological benefit form practicing Baduanjin.

Two Cases of Colon Cancer Patients Who Were Treated with Cetuximab and Presented with Superior Vena Cava Syndrome
Case Report
Objectives: Venous port catheter has been currently used in chemotherapy especially for colon cancer patients. Venous thrombosis related with venous device is frequently reported but superior vena cava syndrome(svc) with high mortality rate is rarely seen as a port catheter related thrombosis. Cetuximab which has been used in metastatic colon cancer is an anti-EGFR agent has shown to be risk factor for venous thromboembolic events. Patients: Inhere we reported 2 metastatic colon cancer patients who had been treated with chemotherapy combined with cetuximab via venous port catheter. Svc was detected in both of them during therapy with cetuximab. None of them had any co-morbidity or tendency for thrombosis. Cetuximab is thought to be increase thrombosis and may cause the svc syndrome. Conclusion: When metastatic colon cancer patients presented with redness and swelling of face while they receiving cetuximab via venous port catheter, other than allergic reaction, superior vena cava syndrome also should keep in mind.

A Case Report of a Primary Intususseption in Pregnancy
Original Research
Intussusception is defined as invagination of one part of the bowel into another which leads to intestinal obstruction and compromise the mesenteric blood flow with resultant inflammation and the potential for ischemia [1,2]. This condition is very rare condition in pregnancy and very difficult to diagnose due to its rarity and because of the anatomical changes of pregnancy which leads to displacement of the bowel by the gravid uterus which hamper adequate abdominal assessment as well it’s vague symptoms [3]. Usually the disease is common in pediatric age but rare in adults as 95% of cases occur in children and only 5% seen in adults [4]. Adult age intussusception is usually secondary to a lesion which is called a lead point which is present in 90% of adult intussusception and it is rare to find a primary type of intussusception (i.e. with no lead point) [4,5]. In this report we present a case of a 23 years old woman who presented at 26 weeks of her first pregnancy with vague upper abdominal pain with nausea and emesis which was thought to be either gastritis or cholecystitis. She was treated with intravenous (IV) fluid hydration and analgesics with no improvement. The patient’s clinical condition deteriorated after 3 days and re assessment showed that the abdomen was distended with absent bowel sounds and generalized tenderness with her vomiting getting worse and associated with constipation. A plain abdominal x ray showed features suggestive of intestinal obstruction which failed to improve on conservative management and the patient was counseled about doing a CT (computed tomography) to confirm the diagnosis because the safer alternative which is the MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging) was not available in our hospital. After confirmation, the patient underwent a laparotomy and was found to have a jujenal intussusception with no lead point, bowel resection with end to end anastomosis was done and the patient had a good postoperative recovery. We recommend that a high index of suspicion is necessary by the obstetricians and surgeon when they deal with a pregnant woman with vague abdominal pain which fails to respond to usual conservative measures so they will not miss such a rare condition in pregnancy which can be associated with high risk of fetal and maternal morbidity and even mortality if the timely diagnosis and treatment was delayed [6,7,8].

Precocious Puberty Associated with an Adrenal Tumor: A Case Report
Case Report
Precocious puberty is a common complaint in pediatric medicine these days with numerous causative factors. Though adrenocortical tumors are extremely rare in children, the differential diagnosis is broad with androgen producing adrenal adenoma. Pediatric adrenocortical tumors are therapeutic and diagnostic challenges because histological criteria for distinguishing benign from malignant tumors seen in adult are not always reliable in children. Here, we report a 2 year old toddler with precocious puberty with hyperglucocortism and hypertension. His plasma testosterone, dehydroepiandrosrerone and cortisol were elevated. An abdominal MRI and CT scan identified well defined left –sided adrenal mass. Left adrenalectomy was performed and histopathological examination revealed adrenal adenoma. This case emphasizes the importance of early consideration of an adrenocortical tumor causing precocious puberty in toddler.
